Counselling & Psychotherapy Swindon,

Welcome to my website

This site tells you a little about me and the counselling and psychotherapy service I offer. It is important that you feel comfortable working with a counsellor  so I offer an initial appointment where you can decide if you would like to work with me.  Please contact me if you are interested.

I work as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist with clients in comfortable and private rooms in Swindon and Cirencester.

Andrew Cornick BSc.(Hons), Dip. Counselling, MBACP(Accred)

About Andrew

I am 45 years old, married and have lived in Wiltshire for 10 years.

When I'm not working I enjoy walking the dog, natural history and photography.

My Experience & Qualifications

I also provide workplace counselling through several Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP's)

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from Bristol University.

I am an accredited member of the BACP which means my practice has been judged competent and ethical by the national association of UK therapists.

I hold a current enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Certificate

How talking can help
Most of us find it helpful to talk to someone who listens and accepts us, especially when dealing with difficult or traumatic experiences, either in the past or present.

It can be easier to be totally frank and honest when talking to a stranger than a family member or friend. The conversation that develops between client and therapist enables people to make sense of the feelings experienced and move on with their lives.

Many people find talking to a counsellor or psychotherapist a valuable way of gaining insight and understanding into how we have become the person we are.

What will Counselling or Psychotherapy be like?

You will have 50 minutes of protected time each week to talk about whatever you feel you need to in a safe and confidential environment.

It is my aim to build a professional relationship with clients where you will feel accepted, valued and understood. Working with someone you feel relaxed and comfortable with is important if counselling is to be helpful, therefore I offer an initial "getting to know you" appointment which will enable you to decide if I'm the person you would like to work with or not. If you would like to arrange this please contact me.

Therapy can be an emotionally painful but ultimately rewarding experience.

"Counselling enabled me to become the person  I wanted to be and to live a life worth living"

Counselling & psychotherapy students

Training to be a counsellor or psychotherapist is a rewarding path to tread. Experiencing the client's chair can be a helpful part of your development as a therapist.

In addition to my work as a therapist I also have training and coaching experience and am able to offer reduce fee places to students who want private therapy whilst training.

Please contact me to discuss this further.
