CHILDHOOD ABUSE AND TRAUMA
Children are the most vunerable of all age groups and to most people the abuse of a child is the most unthinkable thing to happen. Unfortunately it is also common. The abuse of young girls and boys by not only men but by adult women too. If you are a child who is currently being abused or if you are an adult now that was abused as a child, the effects can be long term and damaging through out your life without help. The most important step is to be honest and to get help as soon as you can. If you are reading this, please get help immediately.
It is in no way the fault of the child involved, although most will feel it somehow their fault and probably feel great guilt. It is always the person who is abusing that is in the wrong, they are sick people. But they may also be clever too as they do not wish to get caught and this is why they may make the child scared and tlet them think that it may be their fault.
The abuse, if it is current must be stopped immediately. If the abuse happened many years ago, it can very often still have damaging effects in adult life with self esteem issues, relationships and even alcoholism and drug addiction and even suicide attempts and severe depression. There is help out there though so that if you are abused or have been abused, you can be honest with a counsellor and therapist and work through the issues and the lasting detrimental effects this has had on your life and health so that you can regain happiness and peace again and achieve the fulfilling relationships that you desire.

It is important to state that men and women can both be abusers and there is not as much media attention given to the area in which women abuse children, but it does happen. If it happened to you, you are not alone and there is great help and support available to you too.
