Health Advice and Information on Complementary Therapies Therpaits that help heal and deal with problems using Complementary Therapy, click apples Complementary Therapists Complementary Therapy The umbrella heading of the Therapies and Therapists available on Healer Dealer site Becoming even more accepted as integrated medicine, combining that of orthodox and complementary medicine or therapy as concepts historically associated with complementary therapies, such as holistic healthcare, the mind-body link, 'energy' or visualisation, and self-healing, are begining to permeate conventional medicine. There is no one definition of what complementary therapies are, because the definition needs to encompass a diverse collection of ancient and modern beliefs. They can be sectioned, or tried to fit into catagories such as 'healing', touch based, self care approaches etc, but as most therapies overlap or can fit into a few catagories, Healer Dealer has listed each therapy as an individual therapy in itself without further catagorising. Counselling in particualr may have different disciplines in the counsellors approach, but all are really concerntrating on the same technique of listening and helping. There is information on the different disciplines within Healer Dealer under the heading of their own particular method, and many counsellors use a combination of these to varying degrees depemdent on the client and their particular situation or problem. Many complementary therapists arrive at a diognosis in much the same way as a doctor would, but with two major differences. 1) Complementary therapists will take the whole person onto account and concerntrate on this whole picture of physical, emotional and psychologically. 2) The type of specialist therapist will then determine the treatment based on their individual speciality. A consultation with a therapist usually lasts far longer than with a doctor, sometimes upto an hour. Complementary medicine is more in the public eye than ever, yet it still may hold a stigma for some or it may just be a case of the unknown and lack of knowledge. Most of the specialist therapists practise theories that were, and in some countries still are, the main form and accepted method of curing ailments within the individual. Many even were the basis that modern medicine was built on. Homeopathy was developed by the LIKE CURES LIKE philosophy of HIPPOCRATIES, and the doctors of today still take the HIPPOCRATIES OATH.
